Farm Shops
With its fertile soils and normally moderate weather, the Fens are one of the highest food and flower producers in the country and there is an abundance of farm shops in the area, which market their own and locally produced fruit, flowers and vegetables. Abbey Park Farms near Swineshead are famed for their home grown asparagus and Link farm shop near Gosberton grow and market their own delicious new potatoes. Many of the farm shops in the region have their own tea rooms and restaurants where you can sample real Fenland fayre before purchasing in their shops. Smiths Fruit Farm Shop on the outskirts of Wisbech sell a huge variety of soft fruit, apples, pears and other seasonal produce. Many of the smaller farm shops are based quite literally on the road side, at the entrance to the actual farm.
