The Lincolnshire Fens are less then two hours by road from London. Motorway and dual carriageway networks are few and far between, however there is a good road network and traffic is relatively light. The main A16 and A17 Truck roads cross each other in the centre of the Fens and there is almost always an alternative scenic route. Many of the minor roads follow the route of the many dykes and drains in the area and follow the natural curves of the watercourse.
